A Tribute To The Veterans In My Life And All Veterans

Today I am grateful to our nation's military service members, both active duty and veterans, for their dedication, courage, accomplishments and sacrifices to protect our everyday freedoms. Let freedom ring...
I wanted to list the Veterans, in my immediate family, who have served our country:

Corporal Theodore Phillip Rogers Sr. - Daddy
United States Army - 3 years
Then Daddy joined the Air Force
Airman 1st Class Theodore Phillip Rogers Sr.
United States Air Force - 4 years

Chief Petty Officer Aloysius William Smith - FIL
United States Navy "Sea Bee's" - 4 years
Served in World War II

Sgt. Anthony E. Smith I - Husband
United States Marine Corp - 2 years
Served in the Vietnam War

Sgt. Anthony E. Smith II - Son
United States Army - 4 years

Sgt. Ryan Christopher Abate - SIL
United States Army - 4 years - Served in the Iraq War

This Eagle continues to fly for our freedom, and these Veterans in my life have helped make that possible. Thank you! I am so proud, and love you with all of my heart and soul. You make me proud to be an American.

Thank you for the sacrifices that you made, and for being among the brave and the mighty, that have helped watch over our country as our children have played during the day, and as we have closed our eyes and slept at night. I salute you!

Happy Veteran's Day!

As always, thank you for stopping by my little piece of heaven, here in the desert that I so love to call home. Country hugs and love, Sherry

This is beautiful, Sherry. My heart is so grateful for those that serve this great nation, and my heart grieves for those that lost their lives...and it grieves for those serving now, far from home, and wondering what is happening...it is so important that they feel our support, through letters, prayer, any way we can let them know we're here for them.

God bless you, Sherry, for honoring your family with such a beautiful tribute!

Love ya,
Mary

First, let me THANK YOU for that beautiful charm necklace, Sherry. I am sure there are so many out there that create these darlings without needing constant recognition. You did a lovely job on each one for each specific individual you gave to. Isn't it amazing how so many creative people come up with such wonderful ideas for us to all share in creating. TY creative ladies.

Today it is 'angel blessings' covering our nation & blessing the souls of the graves of our fallen men.

Isn't that a stitch that we have the same pics ... didn't Lynn do a beautiful job pulling this all together for us to post ... she contacted so many friends so that we could all share in this day together on our blogs. When I shared the song with her, her juices started flowing! Lynn, THANK YOU.

Have a beautiful day. Hugs, Peanut Butter/Marydon

I am so glad you stopped by this morning to share Veterans Day. I LOVE the way you did this post. I hope you don't mind if I borrow the layout for next year! Last year I did a photo (not done well) of my Daddy who served. And this year our country & the pecarious position we are in weighs heavy on my heart. But, your post was so fitting of honoring those who have served. LOVE IT!

How are you & Heidi doing after loosing Amy? I know that was very difficult for both of you. I miss Heidi in Blogland. She used to visit me all the time. HUGS to both of you!

Happy Veteran's Day America
I bow to all veterans worldwide. If it wasn't for their unselfishly courageous contribution we wouldn't be able to enjoy this blissful day. Thank you Sherry darling for posting on this special day!!
Luv, I am so glad you enjoyed my sweet offerings. I really missed blogging and just couldn't wait to get back. Isn't funny how we have bonded? I am going over Heidi's blog next. I hope she is doing much better of late.
My sweet Sherry your blog looks so autumny and gorgeous. I was sure it was Heidi's talent and now I know that the talent runs in the family. You have done a wonderful job...looks fantastic.

Thanks Sherry for sharing your family heros. That was a great idea. My brother served in the army, but not in war time. That makes a big difference, but he was helping to keep the peace. So glad you are back.
