Quilt Made With Such Love...

While visiting my Momma and Daddy this past
month, she couldn't wait to share her quilt that
she made. I was so excited. She spent one whole
winter embroidering each square block.
All the states in the United States.

South Carolina
My Birth Place.
Born in Charleston
On the Naval Base.

Oklahoma:Where we grew up.
Where I met Tony.
Where I got married.
Where all 3 of my kids were born.
Where my family still lives.

Maryland, the beautiful state
Where my Sis, Marydon lives.
Sis just look at this beautiful block.
Aren't those flowers gorgeous?

Arizona, the great state where I live.
Love the cactus Momma.
Such a gorgeous block.

A few more states to share.
I know some of you gals live
in these states. Look at the
embroidery, it is so elegant.
Momma did a beautiful job.

And because there ended up one odd
number of blocks, she took Oregon,
and made a pillow to go with her quilt.
Isn't that a great idea?

Momma sent the quilt, to a woman in
Arkansas who did the actual quilting
for her. I think she did a beautiful job.
I love this quilt. A treasure to keep
in the family for many, many years to
come. Loved the blue. Loved looking
at all the stitches of love.

I couldn't show all of the blocks, but
I hope a few of you saw your states
shared today. It's such a labor of love.

As always,
thank you for stopping by,
my little piece of heaven,
here in the desert,
that I so love to call home.
Country hugs and much love,

Incredible! So much work goes into the embroidery alone! Then the piecing on top of it all! I love her choice of the butterfly pattern for the quilting. It goes so well with the state flower theme. What a treasure!
