Sherry, enjoy your day off! I'm off today and I decided to get ahead for a change....I'm headed out to the grocery store this minute. Then I plan to cook all morning and make ahead and freeze so I can free up some evenings after work. This afternoon I'm shopping for some new clothes. Oh...how I love a day off!

I used to get President's Day off when I worked in the banking industry. Now I work for a private college and I have to work! But getting a week off at Christmas and 4th of July makes up for it. I hope you enjoy your lovely day off and do everything that makes you happy!

It was a holiday here in parts of Canada as well but not Presidents' Day...it was Family Day:-) It is supposed to reflect the values of family and home that were important to the pioneers and give workers the opportunity to spend more time with their families. One of the reasons for introducing Family Day was that there was a long period when there were no holidays from New Year's Day until Good Friday. Provinces of Alberta, Ontario and Saskatchewan celebrate this. There, now you got your history lesson of the day! hehe xoxo
